Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of MakeRoll ("the Service"), operated from France. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Your content and rights
You retain ownership of the videos and files you upload. You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to upload, process, and export every piece of content you submit, and that doing so does not infringe any third party's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.
You grant MakeRoll a limited license to store, process, transcode, and analyze your content solely to provide the Service to you.
2. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to process content you do not have the rights to, to infringe copyright, to circumvent any platform's technical protection measures or terms of service, or for any unlawful purpose. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and how you use the outputs.
3. Connected platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram)
The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using the YouTube features of the Service (connecting a YouTube account, publishing clips to YouTube), you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
By connecting a TikTok account and publishing through the Service, you also agree to TikTok's Terms of Service; by connecting an Instagram account, to Instagram's Terms of Use. Content you publish to a platform through MakeRoll is subject to that platform's own rules, and you are responsible for complying with them.
How we handle data from connected platforms, including how to revoke our access, is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed through Stripe as a recurring subscription, monthly or annually. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of processing minutes, counted against the length of the source videos you import and reset at the start of each calendar month; unused minutes do not carry over. Prices shown on our pricing page include VAT, so the amount displayed is the amount charged. Businesses can enter a VAT number at checkout. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund part-used periods except where required by law.
5. Copyright & takedowns (DMCA / EU)
We respond to valid copyright notices and repeat-infringer reports. To report infringing content, contact abuse@makeroll.app. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe.
6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MakeRoll is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the preceding three months.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of France, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights.
9. Credits
The emoji artwork drawn into exported videos is Twemoji, by Twitter, Inc. and other contributors, licensed under CC-BY 4.0.
